I’m having some writer’s block and am stuck on progress to Stranger Creatures book 5 so I’ve been working on poetry today.

I’ve loved the ocean and swimming ever since I was a little kid and it occurred to me that maybe I should have a mermaid or selkie in one of my books, or maybe create an entire chapbook of poetry about them. There’s something magical about the saltwater breeze and diving through the waves. Water is one of the most important things so we have to do whatever we can to keep waterways clean so the fish can breathe and all the things we’ve never seen can keep on being.
