Bending Nothing
Nothing
in a space
Make it something
Turn it sideways
Bend, stretch, pull
Add color
Breathe
and nothing into something
becomes
the story
by Christina Lynn Lambert
For me, writing a story is like pulling something from almost nothing. It starts out almost blank, except for a wisp of an idea, or a place, or a character. Nothing concrete. And then I have to stretch and pull on the idea until it takes on some kind of shape. Then I spin it around, and probably cry a few times and cuss at the blank pages of a notebook, until it come to life. Then I step back, and let it keep spinning.
